Your Gateway to Red Gut Bay, Swell Bay, and Seine Bay on Beautiful Rainy Lake
Rainy Lake Offers World-Class Bass Fishing
Excellent Fishing for Walleye, Crappie, Northern Pike,
and Muskie

About Us
Our resort is a small 9-unit facility with a maximum capacity of 40 guests, all units facing the lake. We are situated just off the Bears Pass channel between Red Gut, Swell and Seine Bays, in the heart of Rainy Lake.
We offer housekeeping facilities only. This means we have no RVs or campers. Housekeeping is the rental of a unit which includes full kitchens and you do all your own cooking and supply your own groceries. Cooking utensils and linens are all supplied by us. The housekeeping rates are on a per unit basis.
We are located 25 miles from the town of Fort Frances, Ontario, which is just across the border from International Falls, Minnesota. Our resort is just left off Highway 11 East at Bear Pass Road. For those who wish to fly, Delta Airlines will bring you from most major cities into International Falls, where a taxi can be arranged to bring you to the resort (must be booked ahead of time). To give you a general idea of the distance to travel, we are located approximately 900 miles from St. Louis, 600 miles from Chicago, 300 miles from Minneapolis, and 1000 miles from Toronto.
Detail depth maps are available at the resort for a cost of $20.00 plus tax. These are used for navigation purposes, as well as structural fishing. We will mark your maps with known fishing areas, as are reported to us by departing guests.

In June, our minimum stay is 6 days with changeover on Saturdays. The rest of the season is flexible and we will endeavor to meet your needs.
Ours is a 4-generation family-run resort. Syd Coppen, whom we are named after, built the resort from the ground up with help from daughter Kelly and her husband Ed. Ed and Kelly ran the resort until Ed’s passing in 2015 when son Patrick moved back home to help keep the tradition going and help Kelly. Their grandson Erik comes out to help on weekends. Their daughter Paula owns a hair salon in Fort Frances and helps out when she can along with
granddaughter Sarah.
We anticipate many years to come as a family-owned and -operated resort. Our main objective is to make your stay so enjoyable that you return year after year and continue to be part of our family. We look forward to your visit with us.
Your hosts,
Kelly, Patrick and Sarah, Erik, Paula, and Sarah
We offer fully modern and well equipped 1, 2, 3, and 4-bedroom housekeeping cabins. They accommodate from 1-8 persons. All feature large screened-in decks with propane barbecues.
All cabins have televisions, electric heat/air conditioning, lights, a large fridge and stove, microwave ovens, single beds with box springs and mattresses, beddings, towels, flush toilets, showers, hot and cold running water, dishes, pots, and pans. Our units are very clean and comfortable. Bedrooms and living rooms have wall-to-wall carpet, and all of the bedrooms have ceiling fans.
Things to Do
We have lots of outdoor and indoor recreation activities. Have a fresh swim in the clean, clear water, water ski, or go for a boat ride. The canoe is available for your enjoyment. You’ll find plenty more activities less than an hour away,
including an 18-hole golf course.
We accommodate only registered guests at our private resort. We have no campground or trailer park.
The beauty of our resort’s grounds and the cleanliness of our cabins will make your stay at Coppen’s Resort most enjoyable and relaxing. We have taken pride over the years of being a family-owned and -operated resort.
